Rocco Awad is NJIT’s floor-spacing freshman guard with real shot-making pop
In the 2025-26 season, Rocco Awad gave NJIT a useful bench spark: he hit 23 threes, scored 101 points, and showed he can heat up quickly, including a 15-point, 3-for-3 from deep game against FDU. NJIT’s staff called him a versatile guard who can score, distribute, defend, and space the floor, which is the kind of combo that makes coaches lean in. He’s still efficient-development territory, but the shooting gravity and defensive effort give him clear upside as a rotation fit.
