Drew Wenske brings swing-and-miss upside and a grinder’s résumé to SFA’s bullpen
In the 2026 season, Stephen F. Austin RHP Drew Wenske arrives as a 6-foot, 180-pound junior with experience at Wharton County JC and Texas Permian Basin, and his profile suggests a hard-nosed arm who can miss bats and handle multiple roles. His 2024 season at Texas Permian Basin featured 51 strikeouts in 49.0 innings, while his 2025 stop at Wharton County CC included 32 strikeouts in 33.0 innings plus a save, pointing to solid strike-throwing and relief flexibility. He looks like a useful fit if you want competitive depth, inning-eating grit, and a pitcher who has already shown he can adapt.
