Javyn Pimental is Missouri’s bounce-back lefty with SEC starter upside
In the 2026 season, Javyn Pimental has flashed a real mid-rotation ceiling for Missouri after returning from Tommy John surgery, including a six-scoreless-inning gem against Auburn and a five-inning, one-run opener earlier in the year.[12][13][14] At 6-foot-3 and 213 pounds, he pairs strike-throwing with bat-missing stuff and showed in 2024 he could handle a starter’s workload, posting a 3.61 ERA with 46 strikeouts in 42.1 innings while holding hitters to .205.[1] The big reason to care: when he’s right, he gives Mizzou a durable, competitive left-hander who can settle a weekend staff and compete in the SEC.[1][11]
