Power-Ready First Base Prospect with Elite Physical Traits and High-Intensity Style
Jackson Godfrey, a 6'2", 225-lb Redshirt Freshman at Western Carolina, stands out for his elite physical frame and left-handed power potential, even as his 2026 stats (AVG .143, 2 HR, 4 RBI) reflect early-season adjustment. His differentiator isn’t just size—it’s the intensity he brings to every play, like getting the second out “with style” in a 4-3 win over UNCG. Though he started only 5 of 14 games (4 at 1B), his redshirt year suggests strategic development, not injury. With a 2024 prep background from Northwest Guilford and a L/R bat/throw profile, he’s a high-upside fit for teams needing a physical first baseman who can grow into a power threat. Care about him because he’s the kind of raw, intense prospect that turns into a cornerstone with coaching.
