Tall, young Monmouth linebacker with early-play flash
In the 2026 season, Monmouth freshman LB Jaylen Carter has already flashed as a rangy 6-4, 230-pound defender who can add length and pursuit speed to the middle of a defense, with at least one solo tackle and one assisted tackle on his early season stat line. The biggest appeal is projection: he’s a young, active linebacker with size you can build around, but the sample is still tiny, so the real value is in his upside rather than proven production. If a team wants a developmental defender with traits, Carter is interesting; if it wants an instant-stat machine, not yet.
