Kansas’ rangy CB is fighting through injuries to keep his starting role
In the 2025 season, Austin Alexander played in all 12 games and started 11 at cornerback for Kansas, finishing with 46 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, two pass breakups and a 28-yard fumble-return touchdown at Missouri. He entered 2026 at 6-foot, 190 pounds as a redshirt sophomore, and coaches have praised his upside while stressing durability and added strength after an injury-hit offseason. The fit is clear: long, physical, and already productive—but the real question is whether he can stay healthy and keep sharpening his consistency against bigger Big 12 passing games.
