John Lobs is a hard-throwing, improving bullpen arm for Western Carolina
In the 2026 season, John Lobs posted a 3.27 ERA across 22.0 innings in 16 relief appearances for Western Carolina, showing real value as a power right-hander who can give the Catamounts clean, competitive innings[1][15]. He’s a 6-foot-3, 215-pound sophomore with a hard-throwing profile and summer-ball experience, and Western Carolina specifically highlighted him among its returning arms for 2026[8][9]. The early-career arc is encouraging: after a small freshman sample, he took a clear step forward, and his profile fits a staff looking for size, strike-throwing upside, and bullpen toughness[1][13].
