Big body, soft touch, and a medical comeback story worth watching
Jakstys is a 6-foot-10 redshirt sophomore center for Illinois who flashed limited but efficient production in the 2025-26 season, averaging 1.3 points and 1.9 rebounds in 5.3 minutes before a season-ending shoulder blood clot diagnosis. His value goes beyond the box score: he brings size, rim protection potential, and bench depth, and reports note he’s back with full medical clearance for summer workouts ahead of 2026-27. If you want a developmental big with real frontcourt upside and a resilience narrative, he’s a name to know.
