Tate Smith gives Northern Colorado a big, projectable right-hander with upside
Smith is a 6-foot-6, 225-pound sophomore RHP who brings the kind of frame scouts love: size, projection, and room to add more power as he matures.[1][6] Northern Colorado lists him on its 2026 roster after he graduated from Eaton High School in 2023, and his prep background includes a dominant 18-1 career record with a 1.99 ERA and a complete-game, 12-strikeout state-title performance, which hints at competitiveness and poise under pressure.[6][7] Early 2026 results on D1Baseball show limited sample production so far, but the profile screams long-term upside and rotation potential.[1]
