Brynn Close brings versatile, high-upside bat with elite prep pedigree to CSU Bakersfield
In the 2026 season, Brynn Close entered CSU Bakersfield as a freshman catcher/right fielder after a standout high-school career at Riverdale, where she hit .497 overall and .661 as a senior while driving in 107 runs, and her profile suggests a player who can handle multiple defensive spots, compete with intensity, and add offensive upside as she develops at the college level. The appeal here is the combo: proven run production, strong academics, and a gritty multi-sport background that usually translates well to team culture and coachability—an intriguing fit if your roster needs a versatile, ceilingy defender with upside at the plate.
