Cornell’s big-bodied righty brings bullpen volume and strikeout flashes
Hegarty looks like a useful **developmental bullpen piece** for Cornell: as a 2025 freshman, he made **15 relief appearances**, tied for the **sixth-most by a Cornell freshman**, and logged a **first collegiate save** while showing he can miss bats in short bursts, including a season-high **three strikeouts** in two outings.[1][2] His 6'5", 200-plus frame suggests projection, and the fact that he earned repeated trust despite a **10.38 ERA** points to a pitcher the staff believed could grow into more than the raw numbers show.[1][2]
