Kyle Bade brings Power Four polish and swing-and-miss upside to USD’s rotation
In the 2026 season, Bade gave San Diego a seasoned lefty with Big 12 experience, working 37 innings over 18 appearances with 33 strikeouts and a few standout flashes, including an eight-strikeout win over Creighton and a scoreless debut at Charlotte; the tradeoff is inconsistency, as his 9.97 ERA shows the command and run-prevention haven’t fully matched the stuff yet. What makes him interesting is the resume: durable, experienced, academically grounded, and clearly trusted in multiple roles, which suggests a pitcher who can help the right team if it wants pedigree, poise, and some sneaky bite from the left side.
