A.J. Goytia brings power-speed juice and on-base feel to Texas Tech’s roster
In the 2026 season, Texas Tech’s A.J. Goytia appeared in 13 games with four starts, hit .188 with a home run and 3 RBIs, and posted a strong .458 on-base percentage thanks to 8 walks in just 24 plate appearances. The stat line says “selective,” but the broader picture says useful: a versatile C/OF with patience, a right-handed bat, and enough athleticism to add value in multiple spots. He’s the kind of depth piece coaches like because he can grind at-bats, draw free passes, and keep the bench honest.
