In the 2025 season, UNI linebacker John Powers appeared in all 12 games and logged 20 tackles, including 3 tackles for loss, while also blocking a punt against North Dakota State — a nice little chaos bonus from a 6-foot-2, 233-pound defender with real edge.[1] He’s a former high-school tackling machine, a state-champion wrestler, and a senior captain, which tells you the fit: physical, disciplined, high-intensity, and dependable on special teams and in the locker room as much as in the box score.[1][5]
