Lucas Day is Oakland’s steady left-handed first-base bat with pop
In the 2026 season, Lucas Day emerged as a key middle-order piece for Oakland, hitting .276 with 5 home runs, 33 RBI, and 14 doubles while earning Horizon League Second Team honors. He’s a physical 6-foot, 228-pound lefty who brings real extra-base thump, consistent contact, and enough defensive reliability to handle first base cleanly, posting a .992 fielding rate in league play. The big selling point: he can impact games with both gap power and timely at-bats, making him a solid fit for a team needing a mature, dependable run producer.
