Iona’s power forward who owned the paint and the big moments
In the 2016-17 season, Jordan Washington was Iona’s go-to frontcourt force, averaging 18.0 points and 7.6 rebounds per game while helping power the Gaels to another MAAC title; he also brought a nasty big-game edge, including double-doubles in both NCAA Tournament appearances. The differentiator was efficiency and toughness—he scored with contact, rebounded like it was personal, and produced under pressure, earning MAAC Championship MVP honors. For a team wanting a physical, high-motor forward who can finish, board, and rise in clutch moments, he was a clear fit.
