Evan Waters brings a sturdy lefty starter profile to CMU
In the 2025 season, Evan Waters opened as Central Michigan’s No. 1 starter and posted a 3.09 ERA with 24 strikeouts in 23.1 innings before an injury ended his year, so the appeal is clear: strike-throwing lefty starter upside with proven early-season effectiveness.[2] He’s a compact 5-foot-10, left-handed pitcher who has been a dependable multi-year piece for the Chippewas, and his track record shows he can work both as a starter and in relief; the main question for any staff is health, not talent.[1][2]
