FGCU’s young lefty with bullpen upside and a tough-name-to-ignore arm
In the 2026 season, Jhon Abreu logged a small sample for Florida Gulf Coast as a freshman left-handed pitcher, working 1 1/3 innings with 2 strikeouts, 3 walks, 3 hits allowed and 5 earned runs, so the raw results are still a work in progress[1][14]. What stands out is the left-handed profile, size, and power-development runway, plus a high school résumé that included a 1.91 ERA and 62 strikeouts in 2025 at Wellington, which hints at real strikeout upside when his command sharpens[10].
