Boston University Forward with Elite Versatility, Not UNC Asheville
Sam Hughes is a 6-6, 185-lb forward currently playing for Boston University (not UNC Asheville), where his elite versatility and high-intensity play style make him a standout differentiator in the Patriot League. As a 2024 recruit ranked 44th nationally by ESPN, Hughes combines guard-like ball-handling with forward-sized finishing, offering a unique 'positionless' profile that excels in transition and perimeter defense. His intensity level is consistently described as 'relentless,' and he shows no significant injury history, making him a low-risk, high-upside fit for teams needing a flexible wing who can guard 1-4 and create off the dribble. While not yet a stat leader, his draft eligibility in 2029 suggests strong development potential for future rosters.
