Preston Pitts brings NFL-ish frame and splash-play instincts to Utah's linebacker room
In the 2025 season, Preston Pitts stood out at Clear Falls with 116 tackles, 27 tackles for loss and 9 sacks as a junior, plus an interception, a fumble recovery and a blocked punt, showing rare disruption for a high school linebacker. Utah lists him at 6-foot-4 and 225 pounds, and scouting notes praise his knack for finding the football in coverage, off the edge and versus the run, along with solid tackling fundamentals. He looks like a versatile, high-motor fit for Utah’s defense—more “problem solver” than stat compiler, which is exactly the kind of sneaky-good fit the Utes love.
