2025 MVC Newcomer of the Year INF/C for Southern Illinois
Emily Williams is a high-impact INF/C for the Southern Illinois Salukis who exploded in her debut 2025 season to win the Missouri Valley Conference's **Newcomer of the Year** award, proving she is an elite fit for any team needing immediate defensive stability and offensive spark [2]. As part of the **regular-season champion** squad, Williams differentiates herself with **elite intensity** and a versatile skill set that allowed her to earn top league honors alongside Defensive Player of the Year Anna Carder, signaling she is a **culture-changing leader** rather than just a stat-line filler [2]. Her **differentiator** is the rare combination of **infield versatility** and **catching reliability** paired with a **playoff-caliber mindset**, making her a must-add for teams seeking a **championship-ready** athlete who thrives under pressure [2].
