Grambling’s true freshman QB is still a work in progress, but the upside is real
Amyne Darensburg is a 6-foot-2, 190-pound freshman quarterback for Grambling State who has flashed running ability and poise in a tiny sample, but the 2025 stat line shows he’s still raw: 3-of-6 passing for 12 yards with 0 touchdowns and 1 interception, plus 10 carries for 24 yards. Reliable coverage describes him as a running quarterback with throwing ability, which makes him a developmental fit for a team willing to coach through freshman growing pains and let his athleticism grow into command.
