Jhaylon Martinez brings grown-man size, efficient finishing, and rim presence to Niagara
In the 2024-25 season, the Niagara center started all 31 games and delivered 6.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and a team-best inside presence, shooting 52.5% from the field while adding 11 blocks. At 6-foot-11 and 260 pounds, Martinez gives the Purple Eagles a physical anchor who can rebound, finish through contact, and move well enough to matter in “inside-out” actions. His coaches praised his different dynamic around the rim, which is exactly the kind of low-ego, high-impact big that can tilt a game without hogging the ball.
