Wyatt Phyle brings size, versatility, and developmental upside to Kentucky’s linebacker room
Phyle is a 6-foot-2, 210-pound outside linebacker whose biggest calling card is versatility: Kentucky lists him as an OLB, and his high school résumé included snaps at linebacker, defensive end, receiver, tight end, halfback, and punter. In 2023 at Everest Collegiate, he earned all-region recognition after posting 57 tackles, 10 sacks, 6 tackles for loss, and an interception, plus 243 receiving yards, which suggests a disruptive, multi-phase athlete rather than a one-trick defender. For a team, he looks like a high-motor, adaptable depth piece with room to grow into a specialist role.
