Reece Clapp brings big-league frame and proven strikeout ability to Illinois State’s rotation
In the 2026 season, Clapp has given Illinois State a steady veteran arm, posting a 3.68 ERA with a 4-3 record and 37 strikeouts, while his 6'4" frame and right-handed delivery give him the look of a durable, starter-type pitcher. His track record is the real separator: he was a staff strikeout leader at Bradley in 2024, and he has already shown he can handle meaningful innings across multiple programs. For a team, he profiles as a competitive, experienced rotation fit with enough track record to trust in important games.
