Calvin Thompson brings efficient scoring punch and disruptive defense to Howard
Thompson profiles as a **high-usage, two-way guard** with legit scoring pop: he averaged **20.8 points, 2.8 steals, 1.9 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game in the 2025-26 season** at Western High School, while also showing enough playmaking and defensive activity to impact both ends.[4] Howard lists him as a **guard** on its roster, which suggests a role where his shot-making and intensity can translate quickly if he adapts to college pace.[3] The biggest draw is his ability to create pressure on defense and carry offense without needing everything to be called for him, making him a useful fit for teams that value energy, toughness, and instant scoring.[4][3]
