Mason Mompoint gives Norfolk State a steady freshman bat with gap power
In the 2026 season, Mason Mompoint has been a productive freshman infielder/DH for Norfolk State, hitting .282 with a .378 on-base percentage, .435 slugging percentage, seven doubles, and 19 RBIs across 27 games and 22 starts. He stands out for doing damage without being a pure all-or-nothing hitter: he gets on base, drives the gaps, and has already shown he can deliver multi-RBI swings. At 6'2", 225 pounds, he profiles as a physical, run-producing corner bat who looks like a solid fit for teams wanting left-side lineup stability and emerging power upside.[8][7][2]
