Avery Allen brings speed, range, and high-contact upside to the Islanders’ outfield
Allen profiles as a quick, defense-first outfielder with real table-setting value: her prep track record showed a .448 average, .529 on-base rate, and 18 stolen bases in 19 attempts in 2023, plus strong fielding numbers and multi-position athleticism. She also earned all-district recognition as an outfielder, and coach/player video notes suggest she embraces doing the little things—moving runners, sacrificing, and helping defensively when the bat is quiet. That makes her a good fit for teams that prize pressure on the bases, reliable coverage in the gaps, and competitive intensity over pure power.
