Gabe Jenkins is a plug-and-play VMI utility bat with speed, versatility, and late-season pop
In the 2026 season, VMI freshman Gabe Jenkins emerged as a lineup regular down the stretch, hitting .255/.347/.321 with 25 hits, 14 RBIs, and an inside-the-park home run in the SoCon Tournament[1][2]. A 6-foot-3, 210-pound utility player, he brings multi-sport athleticism, real speed, and versatility to the Keydets, with VMI noting he was a four-sport athlete in high school and clocked a 6.72 indoor 55-meter dash[3]. He looks like a high-floor fit for a staff that values adaptable defenders and competitive at-bats, even if the power profile is still developing[1][5].
