Merrick Rapoza brings sneaky on-base value and versatile infield defense to FGCU
In the 2026 season, Merrick Rapoza has shown a useful mix of contact, situational hitting, and defensive reliability for Florida Gulf Coast, including a spotless 1.000 fielding percentage in limited chances and timely RBI production in key games. He’s the kind of player coaches like because he can help flip a lineup, move runners, and stay composed in leverage spots, even if the raw batting line has been inconsistent. The best fit here is a roster that values baseball IQ, versatility, and a gritty role-player who can quietly swing innings.
