Rutgers heavyweight Brandon Toranzo arrives with elite New Jersey credentials and serious upside
Toranzo enters Rutgers as a highly decorated heavyweight from Nutley, fresh off a dominant 46-1 high school season that ended with a third-place finish at the NJSIAA state tournament, the highest medal placement in his school’s history. His profile suggests a big-time, physical 285-pounder with proven winning habits, but his college value will hinge on how quickly he translates that dominance to the Big Ten grind. He looks like a strong fit for a program that can develop heavyweight power, pace, and mat confidence.
