Lucas Alaniz brings strikeout ability, but CSUN needs sharper command from the right side
Alaniz has been a usable bullpen/multi-inning arm for CSUN in 2026, striking out 40 batters in 44.0 innings and appearing in high-leverage relief work, including a combined 10-strikeout effort in a tight win-or-lose game against Portland. His best differentiator is bat-missing ability and the versatility to cover innings, but the current profile also shows too much traffic and a 7.16 ERA, so he fits best for a team that wants an experienced RHP who can compete in pressure spots while still refining consistency and run prevention.
