Joe Gold brings Boston College a power arm with starter-sized stuff
In the 2026 season, Gold is a **junior right-handed pitcher** for Boston College with a high-octane mix headlined by a **94.3 mph four-seam fastball** that has touched **98.0 mph**, plus a sinker, slider, splitter, and curveball that give him real swing-and-miss potential.[1][9] He has only limited collegiate game experience so far—three appearances over **2.1 innings** in 2025 with **two strikeouts**—so the appeal is more about projection, athletic upside, and pitch variety than established production.[1] If you want a developmental arm with power, multiple weapons, and room to grow, he’s a name worth monitoring.[1][9]
