Preston Scott brings veteran-catching upside to SE Louisiana
Preston Scott is a left-handed bat-and-right-handed throw catcher who arrived at SE Louisiana after strong junior-college seasoning, including a .290 stretch with a home run at Delgado and a .252 junior year with 23 RBIs and 18 walks; he also earned two-time First Team All-District 8-4A honors in high school and was listed as a 2026 newcomer for the Lions[1][3][12]. The hook here is steadiness: he profiles as a contact-oriented, defense-first backstop with enough offensive polish and experience to compete for innings, which makes him a useful fit for a team that values mature catching depth over flashy tools[1][12].
