Baylor RHP Cayden Baker brings projection, a power arm, and transfer-market intrigue
Cayden Baker is a right-handed pitcher who arrived at Baylor with a strong prep résumé, including a 5-0 senior season, 68 strikeouts in 52.2 innings, and a reported fastball that reached 91 mph, giving him clear upside as a strike-throwing power arm.[1][2] He was also recognized as a first-team all-district selection and a state all-star, and recruiting services viewed him as a notable developmental prospect.[1][7] The big question now is fit and role: he looks like a pitcher worth caring about because of his arm talent and upside, but his transfer-portal status means his next landing spot will depend on how a staff values projection versus immediate impact.[6]
