Samford’s Elijah Wellman is a big-bodied righty with upside and an early recruiting buzz
Elijah Wellman is a 6-foot-2, 215-pound redshirt freshman right-handed pitcher at Samford, and the early read is simple: there’s real arm strength and pro-style physicality here, with Perfect Game noting him among its top 500 prospects and a reported fastball up to 90 mph in high school[1][11]. Samford’s roster lists him as a redshirt freshman from Brunswick, Georgia, but no college stat line is available yet, so the best fit case right now is developmental upside rather than instant plug-and-play production[1][9].
