Big right-hander with a rough 2026, but still a power frame worth betting on
In the 2026 season, Pepperdine graduate RHP Jake Guardiancic logged eight appearances and struggled statistically, posting a 14.73 ERA over 7.1 innings with 4 strikeouts and 6 walks. The upside is the obvious stuff-meets-frame package: at 6-foot-5 and 225 pounds, he brings a pro-style build and right-handed power look, and Pepperdine’s staff noted he “did a great job” in two innings at Cal Poly. If you want a low-risk, proven middle-inning arm right now, the numbers say wait; if you want a big-bodied pitcher with room to develop, there’s something to work with.
