Evan Williams brings size, patience, and pop behind the plate for Jax State
In the 2026 season, Jacksonville State catcher Evan Williams flashed a tidy first impression in limited action, going 2-for-6 with an RBI after arriving from Northwest-Shoals CC, where he posted a .304 average, a .489 OBP, 7 home runs, and 57 walks in 2025. At 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, he brings real power-catcher upside, plus a patient approach that hints at impact if the bat keeps climbing. The fit is intriguing: big frame, run production, and on-base skill—basically the kind of catcher who can change a lineup without needing to be loud about it.
