Amelia Jacob gives USF a high-upside arm with proven strikeout production
Jacob enters South Florida as a freshman pitcher from Shepaug Valley HS with eye-catching strikeout numbers and a reputation for precise, efficient mechanics; her high-school profile shows a dominant 2024-25 season with a 0.61 ERA, 12 wins, 103 innings pitched, and 223 strikeouts, which signals real swing-and-miss ability. [1][4][6] For a staff looking for a pitcher who can change at-bats and bring competitive intensity, she looks like a strong fit—especially if USF wants an arm with both polish and room to develop into a reliable impact contributor.
