JJ Taylor gives NIU a long, skilled wing with upside and shot-creation juice
In the 2025-26 season, JJ Taylor has been a useful offensive piece for Northern Illinois, averaging 8.7 points and 2.7 rebounds in 21 minutes per game while shooting 38.9% from the field and starting to show real scoring pop, including a career-high 17 points in his first collegiate start against Wisconsin. At 6-foot-8, the Chicago native brings size, versatility, and transfer-tested experience, having played at Memphis and UCF before NIU. He’s a good fit if your team wants a rangy forward who can score in bunches, attack mismatches, and keep getting better as his role expands.
