Jose Vargas brings a contact-first, athletic corner bat to Lamar
Jose Vargas profiles as a versatile left-handed bat with a compact build, outfield experience, and a history of fast, aggressive play that recruiters have noted for sound defensive actions and a strong throwing arm. His appeal is fit: he looks like a useful junior transfer who can add energy, athleticism, and defensive flexibility while competing for at-bats at first base or in the outfield. Publicly available college production is limited, so the clearest takeaway is his tool-based value and upside as a tough, high-motor roster piece rather than a proven stat leader.
