Dallas Baptist’s high-upside righty still finding his stride
David Heefner is a 6'3", 210-pound sophomore right-handed pitcher at Dallas Baptist whose profile is built on size, arm strength, and development upside, but his 2026 results have been uneven so far with a 6.75 ERA and 3 strikeouts in early action. He also carries a strong off-field track record, earning Conference USA Academic honors, which suggests discipline and reliability. If you’re looking for a projectable arm with the frame to grow into more, he’s worth watching; if you need immediate production, he still has to prove he can translate tools into consistent outs.
