steady right-hander who can work deep into games for The Citadel
Buffkin’s calling card in 2026 has been durability and poise: he delivered a nine-inning complete-game shutout against Samford on May 8 and followed it with a six-and-a-third-inning quality start against UNCG on April 25, showing he can hold stuff and command through a lineup multiple times. His value is less about flash than reliability, competitive toughness, and the ability to let his defense work behind him, which makes him a strong fit for teams that want a composed starter who competes deep into games.[2][3]
