Zach Knowlton gives CMU a glove-first spark with speed, contact, and big-game pop
In the 2026 season, Zach Knowlton has been a reliable everyday center fielder for Central Michigan, pairing steadiness in the field with a pesky leadoff/No. 9 profile and enough speed to impact games on the bases. He entered the year after an All-MAC Defensive Team 2025, when he started 53 of 54 games in center, made just one error in 190 chances, and stole 15 bases. The right-handed senior is not a loud-tool showpiece, but he brings grit, versatility, academic discipline, and timely offense — the kind of glue player coaches trust when they want competence, edge, and zero drama.
