Winston Watkins is LSU’s slot-speed spark with breakout buzz
In the 2025 season at Ole Miss, Winston Watkins posted 26 catches for 373 yards and 1 touchdown while appearing in all 15 games, and he entered LSU ranked No. 25 among 2026 transfer wide receivers; in 2026, he was projected to start in the slot for the Tigers after a strong fall-camp showing. What makes him interesting is the change-of-pace gear: he’s a compact, explosive receiver who wins with speed, quickness, and shifty route-running rather than pure size, and multiple LSU reports noted his familiarity with Lane Kiffin’s offense and immediate trust from coaches. If your team needs a twitchy, inside-playmaker with upside, he’s your guy.
