Ohio quarterback-turned-tight end still finding his lane
Austin Cline entered Dayton as a high-upside recruit after a decorated high-school quarterback career, but at the college level he logged only two games for the Flyers before transferring and returning to QB at Wheeling in 2026. His biggest differentiator is positional versatility and raw athletic background rather than proven TE production, so he’s more of a developmental bet than a plug-and-play stat line. If a roster wants size, toughness, and a player who already showed he can pivot roles, he’s intriguing; if it needs immediate receiving impact at tight end, the on-field résumé is still thin.
