power arm depth piece for Arizona, but 2026 was wiped out by injury
In the 2026 season, JT Drake entered Arizona as a senior right-handed pitcher with proven mileage: 41 career junior-college appearances, a 2.21 ERA at Pima, and a 2025 Texas Tech line of 15 outings, 10 strikeouts in 13.2 innings, and an 0-1 record. He looked like a useful bullpen arm with experience and swing-and-miss flashes, but Arizona says he suffered an arm injury before the season and never appeared in a game, later requiring a PRP injection and a medical redshirt. The fit is intriguing for depth, but the health question is the whole story.
