Thomas Gonzales is an early-impact freshman arm for USF
In the 2026 season, Thomas Gonzales has already flashed real swing-and-miss upside for the San Francisco Dons, earning WCC Freshman of the Week after three scoreless outings and seven strikeouts in his first seven team games[2]. The right-hander’s calling card is poise: he logged a first-career start with three Ks in two innings and followed with efficient bullpen work, showing he can handle both starting and relief roles[2][3]. At 5-foot-10, he’s not the flashy prototype, but he looks like a competitive, strike-throwing fit for a staff that values versatility and toughness[4].
