Duke's Dominant Freshman Big Man with NBA Pedigree
Jahlil Okafor, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft out of Duke, dazzled as a freshman center for the Blue Devils with his silky post scoring, soft touch around the rim, and rebounding prowess—averaging 17.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in the 2014-15 season while leading Duke to the national championship. His old-school back-to-the-basket game, physicality, and basketball IQ made him a nightmare matchup, though occasional defensive lapses and free-throw struggles (68.7% FT) were minor knocks. A proven winner with McDonald's All-American pedigree, Okafor's scoring instincts make him an ideal fit for teams needing a reliable interior force.
