Gabe Sloat is a versatile Rhode Island back who has earned real snaps as both a runner and a returner, with 225 rushing yards and 175 punt-return yards in 2023, then 70 rushing yards and 111 receiving yards in 2024. He stands out more for reliability, toughness, and matchup flexibility than pure home-run speed, and URI has leaned on him as a primary back and special-teams contributor. He was also a 2023 All-CAA punt returner selection, which reinforces that he can help a team in more than one phase.
